I liked the book and found it entertaining, I just think the slow burn between Gaby and Sacha was waaaaaaaay too slow. As Gaby got to know Sacha’s bandmates too and the tour they were on progressed, the joking and funny banter between all the tour members kept things interesting. The relationship between the four of them was a highlight of the book for me. Both Sacha and Gaby had ex’s make appearances, but the drama this caused wasn’t over the top.Īlthough not the big romance I was expecting, MZ’s books can be funny and Gaby’s interactions with her brother Eli, and his two best friends and bandmates, Mason and Gordo, had me in stitches. Sacha wasn’t banging groupies right and left and that was definitely a plus.

I’m happy to say there wasn’t a lot of the eye roll inducing angst you usually get in romances that center around a band on tour. So we’ve determined that Gaby’s sweet is great…Sacha’s is too much.

Sacha held back from going after what he wanted, which led me to have a hard time connecting with him….other than in an “isn’t he just so freaking adorably nice” way. She reconnects with her twin Eli, who’s band is doing a joint tour with Sacha’s. Gaby has found herself at a crossroads and is a little lost. There was a lot to like about Gaby and Sacha…they are both soooo sweet. Don’t get me wrong, it was good, but it wasn’t great. I’m the same way with musician romances but I just knew I would love Rhythm, Chord, and Malykhin. I was nervous about Kulti since I’m kind of hit or miss with sports romances but it was awesome. Both slow burn romances that, even though the action didn’t happen until later, I loved. Mariana Zapata has written two books that I really enjoyed, Under Locke and Kulti.
